Heaven is not a biblical or spiritual plane of existence, it is more an extension of Earth that was seperated from it milleniums ago. There is a kind of barrier between the two worlds, meaning they are not in the same dimension, but in similar places. People on Heaven are labeled as angels and evolved in a similar way to Humans. The only notable difference between the two species is that Angels tend to have more desaturated skin tones and have wing-like growths on their back, an adaption in evolution to an infestation known as "ROT" that plagued heaven long ago.

The barrier acts as a reflection between the 2 worlds, constantly transmitting energy and information through the two. The stuff being transferred can be as simple as negativity and positivity or occasional passes of information through Dreams, visions, etc.

This barrier works as a stabilizer between the two worlds for millions of years, however in the late 90s, both angels and humans have learnt more about each world, and are constantly looking for ways to connect with each over. While Heavens curiosity is more researched based, Earths is more with the mindset that "They have resources we can use". While this is all happening Earth is in a very unstable state, with constant wars and conflicts.

The constant wars on Earth, and peace on Heaven causes a huge imbalance and eventually causes a surge of energy to go from Earth- Into the barrier and out into Heaven. This surge of energy births "Overseers" which are practically the Demons of this world. Overseers resemble many things, but all look "sculpted" as if made from some kind of organic stone. This adds another layer of disruption to the barrier, as now both worlds are in chaos- while the barrier is meant to keep things at a stable state of neutrality.

War on Earth and war In Heaven ultimately causes Heaven to collapse on the 1st January 2000. The Barrier starts to shatter causing whole shards of Heaven to collapse onto Earth, bit by bit. in around 3 hours 6 billion people died and the world is in shambles. Governments hold up for a few days after the collapse, as some major cities were not completely hit, but society is soon completely abandoned due to many factors.

The collapse does not just bring rubble with it, but whole new organisms, diseases and technology. The most deadly of these being ROT. ROT, while being in Heaven was dormant for centuries, due to most species eventually adapting to it, Leaked its way onto earth during the Collapse.

What many Humans don't know- that angels did, is that Rot feeds off of negative and stressfull, violent and extreme emotional states of the beings it attaches itself to. People may have been able to survive longer with this knowledge if surviving Angels were not blamed for the collapse in the early years post-impact, and hunted for sport.

The confluence is a “religious” faction built on the rubble of humanity and Angel technology. The confluence holds the belief that Heavens crash to Earth was a message from God, along the lines of “Take what you need to build your own Heaven”.

While the confluence may have originally held Religious beliefs, they tend to use it more as a way to fear monger and hold control over people. The Confluence sees anything non-human as impure, this includes Angels, Beasts and anyone even slightly visibly suffering from ROT.

Study group founded by Dr. Leon Roberts in the days after the collapse. Consists of some of the best scientists in London, most of which were studying connections to the other world via frequency's. The group has several research bases scattered across the world and their whole goal is to "reverse" the events and get society as back to normal as possible.
